Project Update: All project work is complete. Thank you for your patience as we finished this important work.
As part of Xcel Energy’s commitment to providing our customers with the safe, reliable, affordable electricity they need to power their lives, we’re replacing four transmission poles (concrete and wood) in Plymouth. The work began on June 1 2020, and will require lane closures, trail closures and temporary relocation of two Plymouth Metro Link bus stops. View map.
Construction is taking place along the south side of County Road 9 between approximately Vicksburg Lane North and Old Rockford Road. The transmission poles will be replaced with weathering steel structures.
Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2020 and is anticipated to be completed by the end of July 2020. Work may require weekend construction.
Xcel Energy is working to limit the impact of construction on residents in the area. We appreciate your patience as we complete this work.
For the safety of the traveling public and Xcel Energy crews, eastbound lanes of County Road 9 and the bike trail along south side of County Road 9 between Plymouth Blvd and Old Rockford Road will be closed to vehicle, bike and pedestrian traffic during construction. Vehicle traffic will be detoured to Hwy 55 and 494. The closures will not take place over Memorial Day and the 4th of July. View detour map.
Plymouth Metrolink (external link) bus stop 8 and 9 located at Plymouth Boulevard and Fernbrook Lane will need to be temporarily relocated due to the construction.
