Xcel Energy and ITC Midwest are intending to file the necessary permits to build an approximately 40-50 mile, 345 kilovolt (kV) transmission line in southern Minnesota. The transmission line would connect Xcel Energy's Wilmarth Substation, north of Mankato, and ITC Midwest's Huntley Substation, south of Winnebago. The targeted in-sevice date for the project is the end of 2021. Xcel Energy is the project manage and will be leading the construction process if the project is approved by the Minnesota Public Utilities Comission.
